Jail Ministry (Men’s and Women’s)
Our Jail Ministry is a team of men and women who visit the Uintah County Jail each week to reach out to the forgotten and those who believe they are without hope by teaching the Word of God. Our mission is to share the gospel and show the love of Jesus Christ, not only from the Bible, but from our faith and actions as well. Our desire is for lives to be changed by and through the power of Jesus Christ, that hearts and minds will be turned to Jesus, and that all will come to know Him as Lord and Savior.
This ministry is not confined to the inner walls of the Uintah County Jail. The ministry continues for the inmates when they are released through the mentorship, friendship, and support of the church. Our mission does not end when the inmate finds salvation; on the contrary, we feel very strongly that the Lord’s work must continue upon the release of the inmate. We make ourselves available to nurture, support and encourage the walk of each newly born again sister or brother, so that they may not stumble. One of the ways we do this is through Bible studies created especially for former inmates.
The ministry teams meet for a weekly Bible study as follows:
Men: Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm in the library of the Uintah Basin Christian Academy.
The days and times that the ministry teams visit the Uintah County Jail are as follows:
Men: Tuesday nights at 7 pm at the Uintah County Jail.
Women: Sunday nights at 7 pm at the Uintah County Jail.
